Reading Gambling Websites costs nothing: there is no subscription and no third-party ad network on the pages. Commission from casino operators keeps the lights on. Below is how those payments work, so that you can weigh our rankings knowing who funds them.

In brief

Where the money comes from

We hold affiliate contracts with online casino brands and with the agencies that manage their marketing. A contract pays either a single fee for each new depositing player (CPA), a share of what the operator nets from the players we sent (revenue share), or both. Under revenue share our earnings rise when those players lose more, a real conflict of interest that readers are entitled to hear about.

Players never pay us, reader data is not for sale, and we refuse money for paid pieces dressed up as independent reviews.

Recognising a commercial link

“Play now” and “Claim bonus” buttons, operator logos in our tables and casino names linked inside reviews generally point to an address beginning with /go/. Hover over the link on a computer, or press and hold it on a phone, to see where it goes. Links to regulators, support services, software providers and press sources earn nothing and carry no tracking.

What payment can’t change

No partner can purchase a different bonus figure, playthrough number, minimum deposit, payment list or licence entry in our records; those follow the casino’s published terms on the check date. Nor can a partner buy the deletion of a warning, the omission of player complaints or a review that appears before our own testing is complete. Requests like these are refused, and a partner that keeps pushing loses the agreement.

Where payment does count

It would be dishonest to claim commission plays no role. Commercial ties are one input into the order of our lists, as the final section of How we test states. With similar offers on the table, a partner brand may rank above a non-partner; when only a few slots are available, a partner may get the place. Facts printed for each casino are identical regardless of rank.

A worked example

Picture two casinos that both publish an AUD welcome package with similar wagering. One has an affiliate contract with us, the other does not. The partner may sit first in a list or be the only one shown in a short top-three box. Both entries still carry the same fields: match percentage, maximum bonus in AUD, free spins, wagering, minimum deposit and the date we last checked them. If the non-partner’s numbers are plainly better, the table shows it and we leave it that way.

At present we run no sponsored articles. Should we ever accept one, the word “Sponsored” will sit above its headline, and the piece will name whoever paid for it and carry no review score.

Absent brands

A casino may be left out because its welcome figure couldn’t be verified, its terms are not published in a checkable form, it has a record of unpaid withdrawal complaints, or we simply have no contract with it. Leaving a brand out is not a judgement on it; it only means we have not reviewed it to our standard.

Offshore partners

Every casino that pays us is licensed in another country, since the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 leaves no route to an Australian online casino licence. Their money does not make their services lawful for Australian residents, and the footer of every page, commercial or not, repeats the legal reminder, the 18+ rule and the Gambling Help Online number.
